Timeshare promotions offer many ways to cut your vacation costs. Some will offer free lodging for two to three nights. Others will offer you free theme park tickets. Still others will offer a gasoline allowance. In any case, these promotions can save you hundreds of dollars on your next vacation.

So, what is the catch. There is only one. In order to qualify for these promotions, you must agree to sit through a presentation about the timeshare. The spiel will go something along these lines: Are you having a great time while you are here? Wouldn't you like to come here once or twice a year? We can offer you the chance to come here x number of weeks each year, all you have to do is buy into a time-share. Then you are allowed to make your choice to buy in or to say no.

There are some words of caution for anyone who attends a timeshare promotion. You should not get too relaxed. The salesperson is usually not going to be super high pressure in his sales presentation and may offer you a drink or two. You should keep that drink to a soda until after you have made your decision about the presentation. This will keep you from making a poor decision.

Before buying any timeshare, be sure that it is in an area where you will want to return for a vacation year after year.
